ISKCON Temple Complex

Comfort Inn President - Ahmedabad

ISKCON Temple Complex is one of the popular tourist attractions of Bangalore. Specially for the Hindu religious tourists it holds great significance. ISKCON stands for International Society for Krishna Consciousness. Founded by Srila Prabhupada in 1966, the ISKCON society’s ambit has crossed the national boundaries. Today it is an international society, with around 300 temples spread across the globe, and has presence in more than 70 countries. One of its chief missions is to propagate the consciousness of Krishna, which the sect worships as the Supreme God, as is being revealed in the Bhagavad-Gita and Srimad-Bhagavatam. ISKCON Temple Complex in Bangalore is housed in a stately building, which represents an amalgamation of modern and the Dravidian style of architecture. It is set on a hillock, accompanied by a scenic environment. This temple is a part of the chain of 40 ISKON Temples of India.

ISKON Temple Complex is sprawled across a vast area, which equals to that of four to five football grounds. Besides the flamboyant idol, the things that make the place attractive are the massive pillars, the living quarters, yoga centers, dance studios, restaurants, laser shows, gift shops and class rooms. It is the place where the body and mind is cleansed of the profanity.

The temple is dedicated to the Lord Krishna. The imposing granite steps lead you to the main temple. Before you reach the temple, on the way are three small shrines, housing idols of Krishna, which may compel to stop you on your tracks. These three images of Lord Krishna are made up of brass and very enchanting. One gets mesmerized by the beauty of these images.

Daily various pujas are performed in the temple. The Darshan Sevas for the devotees are from 4.15 am to 5.00 am, 7.15 am to 12.50 pm, and 4.00 pm to 8.20 pm.
