Chennai is similar to the Taj Connemara in terms that it provides
a colonial era feel. Centrally located and richly decorated
in heavy teak furniture, it gives an overbearing and sometimes
imposing feel of the past. Some have compared its' feel to
the typical London club of the 1800's, royal and regal! It
provides a very subdued atmosphere and standing in the lobby,
you'd want to talk in whispers and hushed tones as if you
did not want to disturb the ambience of the sanctum. However,
the service is completely spit-and-polish; just ask for Jeevs-
