The eminent Sri Devaki Krishna Temple is a unique temple which houses the idol of Devaki and Krishna. The temple is also known as Pisso Ravalnath.

The Sri Devaki Krishna Temple shows the loving relationship between Lord Krishna and Devaki, the mother of Lord Krishna. The temple was situated at the Chorao Island in the earlier times. However due to the fear of the Portuguese who were ruling the city, the temple was shifted to Mayem. Today the temple is located near the Banastari Bridge.

The structural design of the temple is very beautiful and appealing to the eyes. The décor of the temple too is superb. The inner chamber of the temple has the images of Lord Krishna and Devaki. Devaki is shown to be standing with Lord Krishna beside her. It depicts the love of a mother for her child. The idols are very enchanting and pretty. Besides the idols of Lord Krishna and Devaki, you will find numerous other Gods and Goddesses like Laxmi Ravalnath, Mallinath, Katyayani, Dhada Shankar and Chodaneshwar.

The temple also observes many festivals which pull numerous tourists towards them. The festival of Malni Purnima is an integral part of the celebrations and revelry. This festival commences in the months of January or February. That is why devotees queue up in front of the temple during this time to be a part of the festivities and bask in the enjoyment.

The Sri Devaki Krishna Temple is situated at a distance of about 17 km from Panaji. The temple is accessible by local means of transport available in the city. You can also make use of private transport or hire cars. Make sure you visit the temple and soak in the holy and sacred atmosphere. It will surely leave a lasting impression on your minds.
