Goa, one of the smallest states in India, is well known for its lovely sandy stretch of beaches. Candolim Beach located close to Sinquerim is an extension of Calangute Beach. It is a coastal paradise. Candolim Beach is an ideal tourist spot for those who seek quieter, less crowded beaches. Though many tourists visit Candolim these days, a place oneself on the beach can still be found. It is located quite close to the famous Calangute Beach. The lovely sand stretches of the beach are narrow in some places, due to the erosion of sand over time. Swimming in such areas are better avoided since there might be strong undercurrents.
Candolim Beach is a regular beach where you can sunbathe, eat and shop to your heart's fill. But it is a lovely beach, all the same. Hawkers trying to sell the clothes and other goodies to the tourists and masseurs offering to give a good massage are a common sight on Candolim Beach. Unless denied the services firmly, they may keep on pestering you. For refreshing yourself with a drink and a bite, there are a plenty of beach shacks along the beachside. They serve a good variety of food and cold drinks. There are a lot of water sport activities organized at one end of the beach.
Para sailing and dolphin sighting tours are the most popular among the water sports on Candolim Beach. Trained guides accompany the tourists in the water sports. Dolphin sighting tours in the evenings, at the sunset, may turn out to be an entirely unforgettable experience. The fiery red sun blazing the horizon in deepest of hues and eventually sinking gradually down into the sea is a beautiful sight.
There are some lovely places to dine out in Candolim. Food can be bought in any price bracket as per the affordability. There are a plenty of great multi-cuisine restaurants, which provide good entertainment as well. They organize magic shows live music and karaoke to entertain the guests. A nice spicy North Indian fare, a taste of sumptuous Goan cuisine or a Continental dinner, whatever you might please to have, Candolim has restaurants specializing in it. But delicious Goan cuisine is a must-try while in Goa. Only a very few restaurants remain open throughout the year. The rest of them remain closed during the monsoons, which generally is off-season.
Candolim is beautiful place to stay if you wish to stay, shop and dine in proximity to the beachfront. There are many hotels and restaurants in Candolim offering a commanding view of the sea and the lovely beach. Many hotels on the beach organize yoga and meditation sessions for the guests. These sessions are great stress busters. Apart from sunbathing, taking a dip in the sea or engaging in water sports, you can also try fishing. It is ideal for a holiday spent languidly on the beach, soaking up the sun, sipping at a cold drink and taking an occasional dip in the sea. Candolim Beach, with its lovely golden beaches, is an ideal getaway.
