Located 15 km north of in Karikal at Tranquebar in Tamil Nadu, the Bungalow on the Beach comprises of two 17th century Danish bungalows that have been converted into a heritage hotel recently. This elegant hotel not only offers a scenic view of the ocean but also has an old Danish Fort and a medieval Pandya temple situated on either side that are nice places to have a look at. Besides, the Bungalow on the Beach also has the distinction of being the first hotel to be established in Tranquebar.

The names given to these suites like Oldenberg, Elephant, Countess Moltke, Christianus Septimus, Princess Louise, Prince Christian, Crown Prince of Denmark and Queen Anna Sophia seem to suggest that they have been named after people belonging to the Danish Royalty. |

The Bungalow on the Beach offers multi-cuisine dining facilities with a fixed menu.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner are priced at Rs.100, Rs.250 and Rs.350 respectively. The breakfast timings are from 8.30 to 9.30 in the morning, lunch is served from 12.30 to 2.30 in the afternoon and dinner starts from 8 in the evening to 10 at night. Bed tea and evening tea are included in the room rent.
