The Hotel De L'Orient is an 18th century French style colonial mansion that has been tastefully renovated into a beautiful hotel by the Neemrana Group. Everything about the Hotel De L'Orient is French, be it the tall French windows, the French colonial beds or the food (a wonderful fusion of Tamil-French cuisine). The ambience of the hotel is such that you find yourself transported to another age and can almost feel the French colonialists walking through the corridors of this beautiful mansion. This old worldly charm about the hotel makes it one of the best places to stay in Pondicherry.

Accommodation

The Hotel De L'Orient consists of 14 tastefully decorated rooms with all the modern amenities. All the rooms are fully air-conditioned and have en-suite bathrooms. Some of the rooms even have private verandas that overlook some picturesque locales.

Dining

Hotel De L'Orient is famous for the Creole cuisine it serves (a delicate mix of Tamil and French cuisine). Fixed menus are offered at the per head rates of Rs. 150 for breakfast, Rs.350 for lunch and Rs. 350 for dinner. Bed tea, and evening tea are included in the room rent. However, there is no charge for children below 4 years and half rates apply for children below 10 years. Breakfast is served from 8 to 9:30 in the morning, lunch from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. and dinner from 8 to 10 p.m.
