A Glimpse of India and its states

India has since time immemorial fascinated the old and the young alike. There is no other country that is so diverse. The country is vast and is home to approximately 1/6th of the population of the world. Over the years, India has evolved in all spheres only to emerge stronger and better. This mystical ancient land has plenty to offer.

India which is a union of states is a Democratic Republic where Sovereignty and Secularism rule. It has a Parliamentary system of Government. There are 28 states as well as 7 Union Territories in India.

Every state in India has several districts. The number of districts in each state varies widely. For instance Uttar Pradesh has 71 districts while Goa has just 2 districts, i.e. North Goa and South Goa.

 

What causes diversity in India?

Irrespective of the size of the state or the union territory, every state or union territory is diverse in the following which makes it diverse.

  3. Festivals
  4. Culture
  5. History
  6. Language etc

Population

The population of India (current) is 1.15 billion. Currently, it is the second largest country to have the highest population after China. However, it is anticipated that by the year 2030, India will supersede China. And the population at that point of time may be 1.53 billion.

India is a favorite tourist destination with several thousand tourists visiting the country every year. This holds true not just for International tourists but there are hundreds of travelers within the country. Starting from Northern India to the southern part of the country, there are many tourist attractions.

Every state of India has something special to offer. If Kerala is famous for its Backwaters, Kashmir is famous for the valleys and the mountains. Rajasthan is famous for its desert, forts and architectural marvels. All the states of India have something unique to offer.
