Jantar Mantar, built in 1718 by Sawai Jai Singh, is one of the five observatories that were built by the king and the heritage tours of Jaipur must include a visit to this place. It was built in stone and marble and the site is used to study the movement of stars.
One of the renowned forts around Jaipur is the Amber Fort, which is built atop a hill outside Jaipur. The construction of the fort was commenced by Man Singh I in 1592 but was completed by his predecessor Jai Singh I. The fort is essentially a military bastion, and its enormous walls can provide ample security to the residents within the ramparts of the fort. Apart from the forts, the city of Jaipur also houses some beautiful parks.
Sisodia Rani Ka Bagh was made to refresh the queens and ladies of the royal family. It is a beautiful garden, located at a distance of 10 km from Jaipur, on the Jaipur-Agra Highway. It was built by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh in the year 1728. It is a part of the heritage of Jaipur.
