Wild Tours of Jamshedpur

Wild Tours of Jamshedpur

The city of Jamshedpur is known as the 'Steel City of India' due to the well established Tata Steel Company in the city. The city is located in the Jharkhand state and is bordered by Subarnarekha and Kharkai rivers. This flow of rivers, lush green hills, dense forests and lakes make the city a scenic tourist destination. The dense forests of Jamshedpur have been converted into sanctuary parks so that the wild tours of Jamshedpur can be adventurous experiences for the tourists.

There are two wildlife parks in Jamshedpur, which house a wide range of flora and fauna from all over the globe. Large numbers of migratory birds visit these parks during winters. Tata Steel Zoological Park is situated in one corner of the Jubilee Park.

The flourishing nature can be observed very closely at this park while on wild tours of Jamshedpur. There is the 'Safari Park' in the zoo, which allows visitors to drive through a wooded area where animals are free and not confined in cages. Visitors can watch animals and birds in their natural habitat. There is a lake in the park named as Jubilee Lake, that provides boating facility. There is also a boat house and 'Machaan Restaurant' in the park.

Another park worth including in the wild tours of Jamshedpur is the Dalma Wildlife Sanctuary. Dalma Wildlife Sanctuary is situated in Dalma Mountain Range and stretches over an area of about 193 square kilometers. The main attraction of this park is the elephants. Elephants migrate to this sanctuary during summers due to availability of water here, even during this hot season. Other animals that are found in this sanctuary include sloth bear, barking deer, porcupines, tigers, leopards and many more.

The steep slopes of Dalma Mountain Range are a favourite base for trekkers. Several hideouts have been made in the forest for the watchers, for viewing wild animals and birds. On the top of the mountain there is a guest house of the Forest Department and Tata Steel. There is also a temple dedicated to Lord Shiva on top of the mountain.

The wild tours of Jamshedpur are an exciting experience, as the forests in Jamshedpur are rich in flora and fauna.
