Betla National Park of Palamau offers an exciting study of wild life of forests, hills and valleys. This is the most visited place of wild tours of Jharkhand. Initially, it was established as a sanctuary, but later upgraded as a national park. The National Park located on the Mahuadans Road, at 156 km from the Ranchi, covering an area of 250 square km. A wide variety of animals is available in the National Park. Once, two tigers, 50 elephants, 800 sambars and hundreds of boar and pythons were the part of this national park. Eye glowing deer can be spotted in the nighttime. The porcupine, hare jungle cat, jackel, honey badger, Malabar giant squirrel, antelope and mangoose wolf are the small sized mammals. Lanugr, rhesus, cheetal, blue bulls and wild boars are the mammalian wealth of the Betla National park. |

| Dalma Wild Life Sanctuary is located near Jamshedpur, in the Dalma Mountain range at a height of 3000 feet. In 1975 late Sanjay Gandhi was inaugurated the sanctuary. The dense forest of sanctuary is the home for elephants, sloth beer, barking deer, leopard, tigers and porcupines. Small hideouts are available at several places in the sanctuary, which can be used to spot animals in their natural habitation. The beautiful twinkling city view from the top of mountain is a visual treat. It is the natural source of air condition and oxygen for the steel city, Jamshedpur. The guesthouse of Tata Steel and Forest Department of Jharkhand is available on the hilltop. A temple dedicated to Lord Shiva is also there on the hilltop. It is the most healing place of the wild tours of Jharkhand, located just near the fuming steel city.
