The natural tourist attractions in and around Coorg include the Iruppu Falls, Abbey Falls and the Raja's Seat. The Abbey Falls is located 8 kms from Madikeri. This place is perfect for picnics, but as there is no regular transport, tourists have to make private arrangement to reach this place. The Iruppu Falls are at a distance of 91 Kms from Madikeri. This place is a recognized pilgrim centre. It is believed that these falls have some association with Lord Rama. Both these destinations attract nature lovers who come here in search of scenic natural delights.

The Talacauvery is the origin site of river Cauvery. It is believed that on the day of Tula Sankaramana i.e. on 17 October, the spring water gushes from here with extra force. The Nagarhole National Park is 93 Kms from Madikeri. This place teems with native flora and fauna. Tourists can observe the swift footed deer, elephants, monkeys, etc. in their glorious natural habitat. If the tourists are lucky enough, they can even see the tigers roaming in the dense forests of the national park.
