Located at a place known as Mananthavady in Wayanad, the Begur Wildlife Sanctuary provides a lifetime experience in the lap of nature. It will be an extremely soothing experience in the midst of a dense cover of lush green trees, covering the entire sanctuary. Moreover, a large number of trees in the sanctuary have medicinal values as well. Visiting the place will let you see animals like tigers, deer, leopards, elephants and wild boars. Plan your visit during the monsoons from December to May as during this time, you are most likely to see a large number of animals as they come to the filled water holes to quench their thirst.
By Air -Located only 80 kilometers away from the Kozhikode Airport, the Begur Wildlife Sanctuary is very well-connected to the airport.
Rail - The Begur Wildlife Sanctuary is also well-connected by rail as the famous sanctuary is only 80 kilometers from the Thalassery railway station in Kannur.
Road - Reaching this one of the most famous wildlife reserves in Kerala by road is not a big deal either as there is a wide network of roads that connects the Begur Wildlife Sanctuary.
Lakkidi - One of the most prominent tourist places in close proximity to the Begur Wildlife Sanctuary is the Lakkidi. Located on top of the Thamaraserri Ghat pass, it provides a breathtaking view of the lush green forests, beautiful streams and lofty mountains.
Tusharagiri Waterfalls - The Tushargiri Waterfalls, located in the Western Ghats is not far away either. It will be a lifetime experience for any tourist to catch a view of pure white waterfalls.
