Location: At the crossing of Eastern Metropolitan Bypass and Park Circus.

Time to Visit: 9 A.M.- 9 P.M.

Preferred Timings: Anytime of the day. In case of a short duration visit, morning is the most appropriate time to visit Science City.

Admission Fee: Rs.15/- general, Rs.30 for Space Theatre and Rs.10/- for Time Machine. Students are offered heavy discounts if they come in a group of 50.

How to Reach: Local buses, mini buses and metered taxis are readily available from various parts of the city. You can also avail local trains from Sealdah and disembark at Bidhan Nagar station. From Bidhan Nagar station, there are shared auto rickshaws as well as metered taxis.

Kolkata was the first city in India, which embraced Western thought and became more Europeanized than any other city in India, courtesy the British influence. After successfully navigating the Ground Floor, its time for optical illusions and you encounter the aquatic world of fishes as well as the mysterious world of insects. As far as the aqua world is concerned, a bewildering variety of aquariums showcases some of the world's most exotic fishes in a near natural environment.

For the intrepid thrill seekers, there is the adrenalin pumping Time Machine which takes you on a voyage to outer space. Not satisfied, there is plenty more in store. For instance, there is an artificial Jurassic Park where incredible life size Dinosaurs gnaw and guffaw to the utter amazement of the general public. And last but not the least, a great way to wind up your experience at Science City is by hopping on to the rope way and as your cabin its upward ascent and ultimately reaches the highest point, you remain in suspended animation. The majestic sweep of the Science and the panoramic vistas of the bustling Salt Lake skyline appears like one glittering fairy tale world.
