The event will draw huge number of spectators, athletes, officials, sportspersons and media persons from various parts of the world and this is exactly what the Indian tourism industry is hoping to capitalize on. Lots of foreigners will make trips to various parts of the country, mainly North India and this will help the tourism sector to earn good revenue.
In order to cater to the tourists, the tourism, hospitality, hotel and aviation sectors in Delhi and the surrounding areas are putting considerable effort to improve their services. Some of the tours which are already experiencing good demand are Rajasthan Tours, Golden Triangle tours, North India Tours and so on. Most of these tours are centered on Delhi and the itineraries consist of visit to Rajasthan, Agra and other attractions of North India.

Tour packages by preparing tours to Rajasthan, Amritsar, Ranthambore, Taj Mahal, Khajuraho Temples, Corbett National Parks, Shimla, Mussoorie, Nainital, Jammu and Kashmir and other places. These places are well preferred by the foreign tourists and more foreign tourist inflow is being expected to these places.
The tourism department of the government is not behind too. They are putting emphasis to promote the lesser known destinations to the foreign tourists. Places like the Northeastern India, Virgin Islands of Andaman and Nicobar, Ladakh and so on are being promoted as favorite tourist destinations for the foreigners.
Another good thing about October is that it is the festive season in India. Keeping this in mind, the tourism industry will also try to promote the festivals and events to the foreign tourists when they come in October next year. The government plans to endorse Pushkar Fair, Durga Puja, Dussehra, Diwali and other festivals by introducing various festive tours and packages.
The Indian tourism is highly optimistic that the Commonwealth Games will help India become more popular to the tourists from abroad. |
