There are excavations of Buddhist ruins in Lalitgiri and Ratnagiri. The Bhitarkanika Wildlife Sanctuary houses Olive Ridley Turtles, saltwater crocodiles and a number of water birds. There is a beach town in Chandipur, just 50 km away from this sanctuary.

While here you will not be able to deny yourself shopping because this city offers excellent shopping opportunities. You will find a great variety in textiles, especially in cotton and silk products. Horn and the brassware items are found in abundance in Cuttack markets along with Tarasaki which is the famous silver filigree work of Orissa.
