Visitants can obtain useful informations from here about Tibetan history, culture, art and tradition. The House has a museum, which was established in 1965 and exhibits a good collection of objects and artefacts brought from Tibet when His Holiness the Dalai Lama fled from the aggression of Chinese forces.
The major attractions of the museum are the rare painted rolls known as 'tangkhas' in the local language, belonging to 15th century Tibetan monasteries, beautiful Buddha figurines and antique jewellery apart from colorful wooden sculptures, musical instruments, old currency notes, carpets and ritual items. Some of the objects displayed in the museum are also the works of different Tibetan colonies of India.
The House also has a library with a good collection of books on Tibet's history, tradition and religion. There is also a shop on the ground floor that sells wonderful Tibetan handicrafts, clothes, curios, jewellery and even medicines.
