Dr. Zakir Hussain Memorial Museum is a small museum cum mausoleum located in Jamia Millia Islamia University campus near Okhla Industrial Estate. Dedicated to Dr. Zakir Hussain, the third President of Indian Republic, the museum contains a wide range of photographs, memorabilia and souvenirs collected during his term as President of India. It houses some of the very personal belongings of the late President apart from his popular collection of geological specimens.
Dr. Zakir Hussain was a great patriot and a secular leader of high intellectual and moral eminence. He was a teacher by profession and throughout his life supported the cause of education in the country, which is marked by his association with Jamia Milia Islamia University, Aligarh Muslim University and many other educational institutions. An eminent educationalist and scholar in true sense; Dr. Hussain was also the recipient of India's highest honor, Bharat Ratna apart from numerous prestigious awards conferred on him.
