Talkatora Gardens are located on the main Willingdon Crescent Road and are popularly known for housing a well-maintained Indoor Stadium. Talkatora (tal-tank, katora-cup) Gardens derives its name from the fact that it was once a large walled tank. However, these days one may not find a tank but definitely a large sized swimming pool. It was here that the Mughals defeated the Marathas in the battle of 1738.

Beautifully laid, the gardens become the center of attraction during the spring season when the lovely colorful shrubs, plants and flowers are on display. Apart from this the sprawling gardens also serve as a perfect venue for various programs, shows and competitions held round the year. It is a good picnic and relaxing spot with numerous shady trees, potted plants and colorful flowers offering a peaceful ambience. Shows are also organized for children to develop their interest in the science of horticulture.

Special Event / Annual Event

Various programmes are organized here on the lush green grasses of the gardens throughout the year but especially during the spring season. For details check with local authorities
