During his journey, a lotus fell down from his hands and it went into the valley. At the same time, the piece of land turned into a lake. As a result, this lake today is devoted to Lord Bramha. The Bramha Temple near this lake is considered as the only Bramha temple in India. This lake is believed to be as old as the formation of this universe.
According to the Hindu myths there are five sacred lakes on the earth namely Man Sarovar, Narayan Sarovar, Pampa Sarovar, Bindu Sarovar and Pushkar Sarovar. Thus, the Pushkar Lake is one of those sacred lakes. A dip in the waters of this lake is considered among the most important religious activity of the Hindu religion. 52 bathing Ghats surround the lake. The water around every ghat is believed to have individual sacred powers. The Naga Kund offers richness. Roop Tirth offers splendor and magic. The waters of the Kapil Vyapi Kund cure leprosy.
