Wild Tours of Jaisalmer

Wild Tours of Jaisalmer

Jaisalmer is known as the Golden City of Rajasthan. It is located on a barren hill, called the Trikuta Hill. The historic city is located at a height of 80 meter above the sea level. Jaisalmer is one of the major tourist destinations in Rajasthan. The city of Jaisalmer is well connected by road, rail and air with the other major Indian cities. Jaipur is the capital of Rajasthan. There is a good link of roads between Jaipur and Jaisalmer. Jaisalmer is famous for its wild tours. The wild tours of Jaisalmer include the Desert National Park, Akal Wood Fossil Park and the desert safaris of Jaisalmer.

The Desert National Park is located in the Thar Desert. This park is a nice presentation of the rich ecosystem of the Thar Desert. The wildlife of this forest can be observed form the Sudashri Forest post. It is considered as the perfect place in the Desert National Park. Near about 20 percent of the land of the park is covered by lined rocks, pavements and compact salt lake bottoms. Mostly in this park the blackbuck, chinkara, wolf, Indian fox, desert fox, hare and desert cats are found. There are some species of birds also. Blue-tailed green bee- eaters, drongos, bush quail, and Indian rollers are the birds that can be easily seen here around waterholes.

The Akal Wood Fossil Park is the next destination in the wild tours of Jaisalmer. It is only 17 km from Jaisalmer. It is on the way to Barmer, 1km inside the highway. This fossil park is considered as ruins of a 180 million-year-old forest.

Enjoy camel rides during your wild tours of Jaisalmer. The camel ride is really a pleasing and charming experience in the deserts of Jaisalmer.
