Rajasthan travel can be a historic experience of your life. The place, resonating with echoes of romance and royalty, is well connected by air, roadways and railways. You can travel through the golden sands of its desert on a camel or opt for a jeep safari. However, the most important thing you will have to keep in mind while sketching out your Rajasthan itinerary is that Rajasthan is not a small state, and can't be covered holistically within a short span of time. The airport in Jaipur has flights connected to many cities in India, both within and outside Rajasthan. From Jaipur, there are flights to/from Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Udaipur and Jodhpur, and also foreign destinations like Dubai, Singapore and Bangkok. From Jodhpur too there are domestic flights connecting Delhi, Mumbai, Jaipur and Udaipur, and from Udaipur, there are flights connecting the City of Lakes with Mumbai, Delhi, Jaipur and Jodhpur. Indian Airlines, Jet Airways and Sahara have flights to/from Rajasthan, which are very reliable. They always arrive and depart on time. While travelling by flights, just to ensure a little safety, make sure that you have photocopies of all those important documents like your visa, passport, air tickets, etc. At the airports in Rajasthan, you would also find a number of facilities like the phone booths, taxi stand, caffetaria, book stalls, handicraft shops, etc.

Rajasthan travel also includes well-connected railway lines within the cities of Rajasthan and to other states in India. The luxury trains of India like the Palace on Wheels and the Royal Orient do much more than just taking you around the cities of Rajasthan. These train journeys definitely transport you to the regal aura of yesteryears, and make you feel like a king in this age of commoners by simply pampering you with undiluted luxury and hospitality.

A well-planned tour always has its own advantages. For instance, you get to save a lot of time and you would be able to cover more number of places in a shorter period. For this, it is very important to collect as much as information beforehand as you can about the local places of Rajasthan, the distance between the places and the most important factor, the mode of transportation, before embarking on your Rajasthan travel.

Rajasthan has a good road network, which is maintained well by the government. To travel around the local areas you could use trains, buses (ac and non-ac coach), taxis or autos.
