The picturesque hill station of Nainital is beautifully situated around the Lake Naini in the State of Uttaranchal in India. Seven mountains surround this charming city. The blue green lake is named as Naini Lake due to its eye like shape. Naina Peak is also known as China Peak and is highest point in the city. St. John's Church was constructed in 1847. A brass memorial is kept here as the memorial of the people who were buried in the infamous landslide. Nainital has a beautiful zoological park. The animals like deers, tigers, bears and many more are kept here. Kilburi is about 12 km away from the main town. This quite and peaceful place is an ideal place for nature lovers and bird watchers. Excursions from Nainital can be arranged to various places of interest such as Bhowali, which is a beautiful health resort and famous hill fruit market. Located in the heart of apple orchards is a picturesque town of Armgarh. It is around 25 km away from the main city. On the Nainital to Bhimtal route there is a group of seven lakes called the Sat Tal. Other places located few distance away are Bhim Tal, Naukuchia Lake, Mukteshwar and Corbett National Park.

Naini Lake offers various water sports like Yachting, Kayaking, Canoeing and Boating. There are even other sports that are carried out in the city include trekking, horse riding, mountain biking, angling and fishing. Pant Nagar airport is the nearest airport to Nainital around 71 km away. Kathgodam Railway Station is the nearest railhead at about 35 km distance. Reaching Nainital from the airport or railway station is not a problem as Uttaranchal State has good bus service as well as taxi service. There is excellent road network between Nainital and other important places. Local transportation facility is convenient using buses, taxis, ponies and cycle rickshaws.
