Since Uttaranchal is located in midst of snow-clad mountains of Himalayas the climate in the state is bound to be chilly during the winter. The weather in Uttaranchal has wide Himalayan influence. During the month of December the temperature drops to 2.4 C while in the summers the average temperature hovers around 35--40 C.
