Digha is the most favorite sea resort of West Bengal state of India. It was originally known as Beerkul. This is the best option for a memorable weekend. A magnificent view of wide beach of Bay of Bengal is the real attraction of Digha. The wideness is reduced due to heavy soil erosion in past few years. Chandaneswar is yet another tourist attraction in and around Digha is just 6 kms from Digha, which is famous for a Shiva temple. Chandipur is a sea resort near Chandaneswar, while Talsheri is famous for its dense forests of sal, pial (a type of nut tree) and tamarisk (jhau) on the Bay of Bengal.
