Neora Valley National park of Darjeeling district of West Bengal is spread over an area of 88 sq-km. The park lies in the foothills of Himalayas, bordered by western Bhutan from the east side and the forests of Neora valleys from rest. The fauna of this sanctuary includes jeopardized species like the clouded leopard, red panda and musk deer. Black bear, sloth bear, golden goat, wild boar, leopard cat, goral, serow, barking deer, Himalayan flying squirrel, thar, sambar and five species of civet are mostly seen in this national park.

The rich bird life of Neora Valley National park consists of red legged falcon, Himalayan griffon, pigeon, bearded vulture, doves, great pied hornbill and various migratory birds like whistling thrust. King cobra, green pit viper, blind snake, cobra krait and lizards are some common reptiles of the park, while wasps, beetles, bees, butterflies, moths and bugs cicadas are the colorful insects.

Sundarbans National Park was established in 1978 in Twenty Four Parangas district of West Bengal. The Tiger reserve is the major attraction of the Park. The sixty percent of the total area of Sunderban is in Bangladesh. In 1985, it has been denominated as a World Heritage Site. Sanjekhali, Haliday Island and Lothian Island are the wildlife sanctuaries of the Sunderban. Royal Bengal Tiger of Sunderban is the main attraction of the tourists of wild tours of West Bengal. Fishing cat, water monitor, wild boar, various species of deer, rhesus monkeys, crocodiles, gangetic dolphins of Raimgangal River and different fishes and olive Ridley sea turtles are the other fauna of the Project Tiger. September to March is the best time to visit the Sunderbad.

The Sanjekali Bird Sanctuary is known for the variety of birds like grey-headed woodpecker, golden-backed woodpecker, brown-winged kingfisher, white swans, swamp patridge and pallas fish eagle etc. The crocodile pool and a mangrove Interpretation centre is the house for the various species of snakes, fish and other fauna. Bhagatpur Crocodile, Sagar Iseland, Jambudweep, Sudhayakali watchtower, Buriidabri Tiger Project and Netidhopani Watchtower are the other worth visit places of Sunderban.

Singalila National Park is the known for its virgin vegetation forests of alpine. Oak, rhododendron, magnolia, hemlock, silver fir, juniper, mailing bamboo, buk, kawla and bhujpatra are the main tree species of the Park. While, leopard, serow, elephant, chinkara takin, red panda, barking deer and pangolin are the animals commnly seen in the Park. The park is also famous for its trekking site. The magnificent view of Himalayan peaks through dense forests and mountain flowers give the spectacular experience. March-April is the best time for the trek in this natural paradise.

Gorumara National park, Jaldapara Wild Life Sanctuary and Buxa National Park are yet other attractions of wild tours of West Bengal. There is no denying that the scenic sanctuaries of the state with the amazing variety of flora and fauna delight its visitors.
